Rehabilitation Assistance for Schools Affected by Taal Eruption
Last January 2020, the Taal volcano’s eruption threatened a significant portion of Luzon island as it spewed huge clouds of ashes as high as 9 miles in the air. It left a large area in its surrounding landscape in Batangas covered in thick layers of ashes and forced the evacuation of thousands of residents, disrupting their livelihood and their way of living.
To help the communities in recovering from the disaster, the Beta Epsilon provided cleaning equipment for the rehabilitation of schools that were affected. Last February 8, the fraternity's donations were given to three schools in Agoncillo, Batangas: Pook Elementary School, Balangon Elementary School, and Panhulan Elementary School. The resident brothers handed out the high pressure washer equipment to the school principals and were also trained on how to install and operate the said equipment.
At the end of the day, the officials were indeed grateful for the assistance provided by the fraternity to aid in their recovery from the devastation brought about by the Taal eruption.
